clodcapture is a Chrome extension that saves and continues your AI chat sessions. It is built local-first: there is no clodcapture account, no analytics, and no server collecting your data.

What we store

clodcapture stores the contents of AI chat conversations you choose to save — including messages, titles, and timestamps — using Chrome's local storage API. This data lives on your device, inside your browser profile.

What we don't do

We don't run servers. We don't sell, share, or transmit your conversations to clodcapture or any third party. We don't use analytics, advertising SDKs, fingerprinting, or tracking of any kind.

Detect which chat is active, read conversation content from the active tab, and load saved context into the chat composer.

Authenticate API requests to the chat platform using your existing session cookies. No cookies are stored, modified, or sent externally.
alarms
Run a background refresh every 30 minutes to keep captured sessions current.
downloads
Export captured sessions as JSON files to your Downloads folder.
clipboardRead / clipboardWrite
Copy and paste session snapshots when you ask clodcapture to.
host permissions
clodcapture only runs on the supported AI chat platform. Optional host permissions for a third-party AI provider API and GitHub are used only when you explicitly configure those features in settings.

Third parties

AI provider API (optional): When you configure an API key in settings, clodcapture may send session data to the provider to generate digests or count tokens. The provider's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.

GitHub (optional): When you configure GitHub backup, clodcapture pushes captured sessions to a repository you specify using a personal access token you provide. No data is sent to GitHub unless you explicitly enable this feature.

Your control

You can delete any saved session from the clodcapture popup at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, the date above will update and the extension listing will reflect the new version.
